G has been a really great helper today, it's really fun doing stuff with her (when she's not in one of those needy wingy moods!) and today when K took her afternoon nap, i had a little helper sorting out my buttons, threading (or trying to thread) my needle, counting the satchets, organising my photo display and even being the model in the photoshots. :)

I'm having trouble trying to upload my videos onto blogger. I took a video of G reading the entire book of "madagascar Escape 2 Africa", cover to cover. We noticed her trying to read her words a few weeks ago, and have been encouraging her to do so by reading to her all the favorites. Initially, we though that she was just remembering the words from memory, but around 2 weeks ago, realised that she was actually reading! It is pretty amazing, when you see that little lightbulb go off in her head, about creating words and making the phonetics and meaning connect. She is so thrilled about her newfound skill that she reads everything. From menus to toy boxes, from emails to my novels.. haha, it is such a joy to see that comprehension when she gets it all right :)

Anways, as i've mentioned earlier, G is very into her PiNK and PriNCESS phase. Heh, we bought her the 11piece dressup set from ToysRus and she was SOOO thrilled! Here are some pics of her in the 'top to toe' getup!

Everything seems to be going very SLOWLY around here at the moment. Heh, i'm completing some xmas pressies that will be posted out VERY SOON! and also alot of stuff for an upcoming project that i can't reveal YET! :)
So, we brought the girls to The Studio Loft for their xmas walk in package. G of course wanted to be in her princess dress, and was more than thrilled to see that among the props, there was a tiara, a wand and even some super glittery earrings! Here are the pics:

wow, i surprise myself... heh... okay, all is quiet in the house as #1 is watching telly and #2 is taking her morning nap. :) So, here's what we did this morning {a giving thanks mini album} lots of rubons, stickers and pasting....








O! yesterday we had a walk down memory lane. For all of you in our age group, do you remember Steeples Deli at scotts road? It was a dating hangout, a place you brought yr 1st date, a place to go with your girlfriends when skiving off school, a place that served the most yummilicious chocolate peanut butter milkshake that has sustained it's place at the top of my little black book of yummy desserts for close to 20 yrs! :) I'm so glad that it's still around, the food was as delicious as i remember. Although now i had to spend most of my time chasing the kids around, it still brought back really fond memories. :)

I have deep respect for parents all over the world. How do you cope? It is tiring running after the 2 of them, constantly having to stop them from fighting, making sure they are clean and safe. G was in her typical attention seeking mood again today, just after her performance. I'm sure she had a great time acting her part in the production today, the pics are over HERE.
As usual, whenever G gets into her 'i don't want to listen to my parents' mood, we flounder around, trying all sorts of methods to actually make her do what we want. Scoldings don't work, ignoring doesn't work, curtailing treats don't work either. Sometimes we just wait out the tantrum, but it is very tiring on all parties. Any tips out there?

Anyways, the journalling on this tag pretty much sums up how i usually feel if i lose my cool with her after one of the aforementioned tantrums. (click on the pic to view it larger)
It's a great thing to write it all down, i look at it all the time and remind myself - look at the big picture!
